What is NearPin? A surroundings map for your site
By M. Moes · Published on 22 October 2026
NearPin is a widget that shows the surroundings of your accommodation on your own website. Your guest opens the map, sees what there is to eat, do and visit within a few kilometres, and stays on your site while doing it. You add it with one script tag, and you can try it free for 14 days.
What does the widget do?
The widget shows places around your location on a map, with its own icon for each type. Guests filter by tabs such as food and drink, nature, activities and sports, and choose a radius of 1, 5, 10 or 15 kilometres. A family with children finds something different from a couple heading out for the evening.
The places come from public map data. NearPin checks that they still exist and keeps them up to date. You do not have to maintain a list of restaurants or day trips.
Who is it for?
NearPin is made for hotels, B&Bs, campsites, holiday parks and other accommodations. One widget belongs to one location. If you have several locations, you create several widgets and pay only for the ones you activate.
How to add it
- You create an account and choose your location.
- You set up the widget.
- You copy the script tag from your dashboard.
- You paste it on the page where the map should appear.
That works in any website system where you can add a piece of code. You do not need a developer.
Competitors stay out of view
Other accommodations are never shown. A guest looking at the surroundings on your site is not sent on to the hotel down the road. That is the big difference from an ordinary Google Maps embed.
You decide what appears
In the dashboard you manage the places in your widget. You block a place you would rather not show and highlight a partner, such as the restaurant you work with.
Statistics
For each widget you see how often the map was viewed and which places guests click. That tells you what your guests are looking for. The statistics work without cookies and without personal data.
QR code for the front desk
You download a print-ready QR code. Guests scan it at check-in and have the map of the surroundings on their own phone, with no app and no login. It works well at the front desk, in the room or at the campsite entrance.
Cost and trial
You try NearPin free for 14 days. After that a widget costs 29.95 euros per month, excluding VAT. You pay only for widgets that are active. The pricing page shows what is included.
