A local area map without cookies or a banner

By M. Moes · Published on 22 October 2026

The NearPin widget places no tracking cookies and stores no personal data about your visitors. That is why you do not need to add a cookie banner for the widget. If you use other services on your website that do set cookies, you still need a banner for those.

What the widget remembers

The widget stores one thing in the visitor's browser: the language the visitor chooses. That is not a tracking cookie and no personal data is attached. To stop the same click from counting twice within 60 minutes, our server keeps a derived code (a hash) for up to an hour, not the IP address itself. That code is not stored in the database and disappears on its own.

What you see in the statistics

You see how often the map was viewed and which places were clicked. You do not see who did it. The details are deleted after 35 days. The totals are kept.

Why this helps you

A cookie banner costs you visitors and needs maintenance. Every service on your site that sets cookies makes your banner more complicated. With a widget that does not, you have nothing to change.

Stay critical

Whether your website needs a banner depends on everything that runs on it. Have your whole site checked. The NearPin widget is in any case no reason to add one.

What is NearPin? A surroundings map for your site

NearPin is a widget you place on your own website. Guests see at a glance where to eat, what to do and what to visit nearby, without leaving your site.

NearPin, Google Maps or an agency map: costs

There are three ways to show the surroundings on your website: a Google Maps embed, a map built by an agency, or a ready-made widget. Here is what they do and what they cost.

For businesses

You are already on the map: claim your listing

Do you own a restaurant, attraction or shop? Your business is probably already in the widgets of accommodations nearby. You claim your listing for free and then update your details yourself.

Put the surroundings on your website, before your guest goes looking elsewhere

See the map on your own address before you change anything on your website. Try it for free, or let us walk you through it in a short demo.

First widget free for 14 days. Early Bird: €23.95 per widget per month, 10 spots left, then €29.95 (excl. VAT).
