NearPin, Google Maps or an agency map: costs
By M. Moes · Published on 22 October 2026
You can show the surroundings on your website with a Google Maps embed, with a map built by an agency, or with a ready-made widget such as NearPin. An embed is free but also shows competitors. An agency builds exactly what you want, but it quickly costs 4,000 to 5,000 euros as a one-off. NearPin costs 29.95 euros per widget per month, excluding VAT.
The three options
| What you want | Google Maps embed | Agency-built map | NearPin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Works on any website | Yes | Usually | Yes, with one script tag |
| Competitors hidden | No | By agreement | Yes, always |
| Data kept up to date automatically | Yes, by Google | Often manual work | Yes |
| Your own branding | Limited | Yes | Yes |
| Statistics | No | By agreement | Yes, per widget |
| Cost | Free | One-off, about 4,000 to 5,000 euros | 29.95 euros per month, excl. VAT |
When each option fits
If you only want to show where you are, a Google Maps embed is enough. If you want a fully custom design and have the budget, an agency is a good choice. If you want a map of the surroundings quickly, one that keeps itself up to date and shows no competitors, NearPin fits.
A quick calculation
For 4,000 euros you can use NearPin for more than 11 years. There is no maintenance, no hosting and no invoice from an agency when something needs changing. You pay only as long as you use the widget and can stop any month.
