The local area in your digital guest directory

By M. Moes · Published on 22 October 2026

A digital guest directory is your accommodation's information folder on a phone: wifi, breakfast times, house rules and more. The local area is one part of it, and you can fill that part with NearPin. NearPin is not a complete guest directory, but it provides the map of the surroundings and a page that guests open with a QR code.

What belongs in a digital guest directory

  • Wifi name and password.
  • Breakfast times and restaurant opening hours.
  • House rules and check-out time.
  • Contact details for when something comes up.
  • Tips for the local area.

The last item takes the most upkeep, because the area keeps changing.

Where NearPin fits

NearPin shows the places around your location on a map and keeps the data current. You open that map through a QR code, on a page of its own for guests who have already checked in. If you already have a digital guest directory, you link to that page from it or place the widget on the directory's page.

What NearPin is not

NearPin does not manage wifi details, house rules or breakfast times. For those you use a guest directory or a simple page on your own site. You just no longer have to fill in the local area there yourself.

Try it first

You try NearPin free for 14 days and download the QR code straight from your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Is NearPin a digital guest directory?
No. A guest directory also holds wifi details, breakfast times and house rules. NearPin provides only the section on the local area.
Can I use NearPin in my existing guest directory?
Yes. You can place the widget wherever you can add a script tag, or link to the QR page with the map of the surroundings.
What else goes in a digital guest directory?
Usually wifi, breakfast times, house rules, check-out information and contact details. You fill that in yourself, outside NearPin.
Tips for accommodations

What is there to do nearby? Guests ask first

Guests almost always ask at check-in what there is to do nearby. If your website answers that, you have to repeat it less often at the front desk.
